I truly got to appreciate the beauty of November in PA for this Fall engagement session. Brianna and Matt are officially 1 year away from their November 2024 wedding at the Downingtown County Club. We decided to immerse ourselves into the Fall foliage at French Creek State Park for their engagement photos. (These will make the perfect Save the Dates!)

The first stop on our list was Scotts Run Lake. There’s a gorgeous forest of tall Pine trees here that make the perfect Autumn backdrop. I’m so glad we had a few yellow and burgundy leaves on the trees to add some color to their gallery. One of my favorite ways to begin a couples photo shoot is some kind of movement pose. I usually go for a simple hand-holding walking prompt- this is my favorite!

Brianna really wanted a picnic style for their engagement photos. I brought along my olive green knit blanket and they brought sparkling cider and some drinking glasses. We set their picnic and starting with some glass ‘clink’ poses while making sure to show off the engagement ring.

After finishing the cider, we moved into some more snuggly couples poses and I made sure to keep these two laughing. These two really know how to be themselves in front of the camera. This being my second photo session with this couple, they were already so comfortable with my direction.

To switch things up, we decided to explore more areas of the park. I found a small yellow-lined roadway that make the perfect photo background. I wanted this set of portraits to feel more candid and ‘in the moment’. I prompted a walking pose and Brianna and Matt started to transition into some twirls on their own. I made sure to capture this sweet, natural moment and they ended up being some of my favorite shots of the entire gallery.

I am beyond excited for this couple’s Chester County wedding. After my recent end of October wedding at Stokesay Castle, I have no doubt that this late Fall wedding will be absolutely stunning.
