There is something so sweet and meaningful about newborn photos in the nursery. I am a huge fan of lifestyle newborn sessions at home. I find that these are the kinds of photos that really capture this moment in time. Looking back on these images, you’ll see the nest you’ve created for you’re little one documented at the very beginning. The relaxed and comfort families feel within their own home is truly shown through a gallery like this.

This February, I had the chance to reconnect with the Kirkwood family and meet their newest addition to the fam! We began our session upstairs in the nursery. They chose an adorable dinosaur theme for the baby’s room. Let me just say- I’m obsessed. The entire room had accents of navy blue and green, which are colors you can find all over my brand. In the nursery, they had a chaiir set by the window which offered us tons of natural lighting. Mom, dad, and big brother took turns in the seat with baby in arms. This is the part of the session where I simply let things happen and allow the parents to just adore and love on their baby. Those are the moments I want to capture!

After spending some time in the nursery, we travled to the living room for some cozy family portraits. They settled on the couch and I prompted everyone to snuggle in and look at the baby. The dog even joined in! We moved around the couch capturing giggles at every angle. I was sure to get a few photos the parents with their littlest one.

Before wrapping up, we had a quick outfit change for the boys. Mom wanted a classic “big bro” and “little bro” photo even though the sweatshirt was a bit too big for the little guy! These shots came out so sweet and just look at how their sweatshirts match the couch pillows. Let me say, this family knew how to color coordinate!
