I’m back at the Daniel Boone Homestead for the Fall photo season! This place is like home to me- it’s practically my backyard at this point. The leaves have finally started to change colors and the weather is beginning to cool. This is my favorite time of the year for photo sessions! I’m so glad I was able to meet the Weisser family on this Tuesday evening to capture their giggles and laughter!
This session was a breeze! I am so impressed by this adorable family. The girls were so energetic and full of smiles. It made my job so easy. I can’t say enough good things about this group. They absolutely nailed their outfits! Their mom, Alexis, had a tough time choosing outfits and asked me for a few suggestions the week before. Her daughter really loved this bright pink top with jeans and she wasn’t sure what exactly it would pair with. I gave her my suggestion that navy blues and olive greens are a great addition to her color palette. She reviewed my Style Guide and took my advice and executed it beautifully. She couldn’t even believe how well it came together.
We met at the homestead for golden hour and we took a scenic walk through the park to get to my favorite photo spots. This family wanted the best view of the Fall foliage! We began with a simple walking pose along the trail. This is a great warm up prompt to relieve nerves and build excitement. We made time for a few laughs and family tickle fights, of course!
Then, we made our way onto the iconic wooden bridge. This rustic background adds a little variety to the final gallery. I gave the parents some spotlight to begin with. It’s so rare that parents have the opportunity to step in front of the camera. For me, it’s always a priority! Next, we photographed the girl’s solo portraits. These girls were complete pros! They were so comfortable in front of the camera and knew how to have fun with it.
Our last backdrop is my all time favorite spot! I love the way the sun peaks behind the trees to give us a golden look to these portraits. This family was so fun and cooperative that we truthfully had a ton of free time left. I decided to add in a few more family portraits. I’m glad I did because these began my favorites of the entire gallery! With my longer family sessions, I have the time to include both mommy and me portraits and daddy-daughter photos. We had the chance to include these and finish off with some goofy prompts for the girls. They played tag and gave piggy-back rides. We ended off with a few falls to the ground and so much laughter.
I am beyond happy with how this gallery came out! I can’t wait for more Fall sessions this October. I’d love to get out to the Daniel Boone Homestead for some more weeknight sessions. It is so peaceful and quiet. I can’t wait until next time!
