Wow! If you’re looking for an epic location duo for your senior portrait session — I’ve found it. This 2025 Daniel Boone graduate left all the planning in my hands for her senior portrait session this summer. I took this as an opportunity to be as colorful and bold as possible.
Working with 2 location choices, I wanted these places to contrast and compliment each other well. I love mixing the more urban backdrops with those in nature. It leaves you with a gallery full of variety.
Stoudtburg Village
For our first stop of the night, we began photographing at Stoudtburg Village in Adamstown. These German-style buildings offered such a unique and vivid scene. We had the chance to play around with walls in blue, green, purple, and so much more.
To pair with this urban setting, Haley stuck to a casual look with her outfit. I always suggest wearing a pair of jeans that youI feel most confident in for your senior session. She paired this with a basic white cropped top that reflected her everyday-style. One of my best tips for an easy outfit change is to bring a second top to switch into to pair with your same pair of jeans.
Posing looks so different in a more condensed and city-like location. While there’s less room to move, there are many more elements to interact with. You’ll notice Haley leaning against the wall in many of these shots. She was also seated on a staircase and framed within things like walls, doors, and gates.
Everfresh Produce
Just in time for golden hour, we found ourselves at Everfresh Produce in New Holland. This quiet, Amish-owned flower farm made the perfect addition to Haley’s senior portrait session. The field of florals sits surrounded by gorgeous farmland that allows the sun to set beautifully along the horizon. It makes for a perfect view of the sunset.
To coordinate with this farm scenery, Haley transitioned into a classic white dress for this next set of photos. This is a tradition for seniors and grads. This dress paired perfectly with the tangerine zinnias! However, we simply couldn’t end there. I brought along the most picture-perfect dress from Free People as our final outfit change. I always recommend a long and flowy dress option for any photo occasion. The movement they create is absolutely elegant on camera. (Grab the dress here!)
With so much more freedom to move at this location, we could be really creative here. Poses ranged from sitting in the flower beds to laying in the field. When photographing in more open backgrounds like this one, I love to play around with movement for those more candid-feeling prompts. This looks like playing with the hair and twirling in a dress.
