Daniel Boone Homestead

Megan’s senior portrait session was full of laughs and fun conversation. We had a blast going through props and outfit changes. Her perfect Fall session was photographed at a local favorite location, the Daniel Boone Homestead. I love the scenery at this spot in the Autumn months. The rustic and historic grounds really shine among the colored leaves. We scheduled her session for golden hour to enhance the warm look.

For this Daniel Boone High School senior’s portraits, we decided on a few props and outfit changes:

• 2 Outfit Changes
• Varsity Jacket
• Girl Scout Vest
• Sports Memorabilia

Megan and her mom wanted a casual everyday style. They brought along 2 tops to match the same pair of jeans and black booties. This made for a quick and easy outfit change. Megan is a member of the swim team, the track team, and Girl Scouts. She wanted to showcase these activities into her senior photos so she included her varsity jacket and Girl Scout vest. I made sure to capture some detail photos of her Girl Scout patches and her name embroidered onto her varsity jacket.

My favorite photos from her gallery were the last set with her varsity jacket. By this point, she was feeling comfortable and confident. She held that jacket with power! Whenever a senior brings along their varsity jacket, I have a go-to pose. I love prompting them to carry their jacket over their shoulders.

The most important thing to me during Megan’s session was to bring out her most genuine smile. My goal is always to bring seniors out of their shell and make them feel confident in front of the camera. This was easy for Megan. She was a natural. As soon as I asked her for a simple hand on hip pose, her personality came right out. We giggled and we talked about celebrity crushes! I gave her minimal prompts and let her do her thing. We added some variety with different backdrops and outfits.
