One of my goals for 2023 has been to collaborate with other vendors. I love playing the role of creative director and putting together a production team. Before the new year, I shared a favorite magazine cover from Rolling Stone. It was a cover shot of Alicia Silverstone from Clueless. She wore a cowgirl hat in an all pink studio. This photo shoot has inspired me so much when finding my photography style. I was eager to find a model to recreate it with me.

A fellow photographer, Tami (Bennecoff Photography), reached out interested in modeling the concept. Tami is a horse barrel racer and a 5th generation farmer- the cowgirl aesthetic couldn’t be more perfectly suited for her. She decided to purchase a brand new pair of Lane cowboy boots, a pink fringe dress from Punchy Blonde, and some adorable earrings from Altar’d State. This girl was committed to the look and I loved it! I added a matching pink cowboy hat to my cart and brought my coral pink Savage Seamless Paper Backdrop to our shoot.

We began our day with glam at The Artisans Nook in Boyertown, PA. Alexis is the owner and master-stylist at this local gem. She allowed us to take over her space for the morning for hair and makeup. Alexis blow dried and curled Tami’s hair to perfection. She decided to stick to a simple style since we’ll be photographing with a hat. After the hair was complete, we began the makeup application with Artistry by Crystal. Crystal is known for her picture-perfect makeup looks that photograph like a dream. She went with a mauve pink toned look to compliment our outfit pieces and the backdrop.

Now we were ready to shoot! I brought along my lighting and studio equipment for this one. Our goal was to give off a girly cowgirl vibe. We played around with poses highlighting the white boots, focusing on the pink fringe jacket, and showing off the hat. I wanted a mix of soft smiles and cheery smiles. Most poses involved Tami holding the brim of the hat in some way. I feel like we captured a Kacey Musgraves album cover! All the pink tones worked seamlessly together. I am more than happy with the final gallery.
