When I envision a couple that is just meant to be, Devon and Brandon are that couple. We had so much fun giggling, getting to know each other , and running through the fields of the Daniel Boone Homestead for their beautiful golden hour engagement photo session. This local Berks County gem is my go-to photo location for a reason. The light hits just right at every corner.

Now, a little backstory: This engagement photo shoot was planned for May of this year. You might ask why our session took place in September. Well, due to unfortunate events, Devon’s diamond broke… It had to be sent back to the jeweler for months to be fixed. At this point, the jeweler has had Devon’s ring longer than she has! Let’s just say, there was plenty of built up anticipation for this couple’s session.

I could not think of anything more dreamy than a late summer engagement session in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Devon was looking for a more rustic photo aesthetic to match her country-style wedding venue, Barn on Bridge in Collegeville, PA. We made sure to accomplish that with the Daniel Boone Homestead’s historic grounds. We started the evening out with some walking poses at the wooden bridge. This is my favorite warm-up pose to get everyone comfortable in front of the camera and taking posing directions.

Next, I really leaned into the rustic vibe by having these two lean against a wooden fence, snuggle in the wheat grass, and pin each other against a red barn. Myself and the newly engaged couple agreed on a mixture of romantic and candid photos for their couples session. I made sure to include the necessary smile-and-hold-hands pose while really focusing on the more candid-style photography

We truly had a chance to play around with movement in our last set of photos. As we ended our night at the Daniel Boone Homestead’s largest field, I prompted Brandon to pick his lover up by the booty and spin her around! Prompts like this brought out the biggest and truest smiles in these two. I always believe in capturing my clients as they are. I want your personality and connection to shine through your gallery. It is incredibly important to me to capture the raw, genuine moments between a couple, with a family, for a graduating senior, or any portraits for that matter.
