Why 2 Locations are a MUST for Senior Sessions! | Berks County Photographer

5/28/24

You know what they always say, 2 is better than 1! If you want some more variety out of your senior portrait session, I highly recommend booking my collection with 2 locations included. It’s so important to really capture your vibrant personality and multifaceted selves. Sometimes, a single location just doesn’t cut it. Phoebe wanted to frolick in a meadow wearing her best dress for sure, but she also wanted to incorporate a city feel to reference her love for Seattle here in PA. We combined 2 completely different locations into her senior session for a perfectly well-rounded gallery.

Penn Avenue in West Reading

Our first stop of the night was Penn Avenue in West Reading. The area is known for their unique murals and colorful culture. Pops of color are kind of my thing so I decided to scout the area a week prior to decide on our road map for Phoebe’s session. I found a hidden gem along an alley way — a yellow brick wall! Since this senior has committed to West Virginia University, this was the perfect backdrop to incorporate her college tee.

A bit further down the street lives my favorite mural on the avenue. This navy blue and orange mandala piece was just the kind of vibrance we were looking for! It contrasted so well with Phoebe’s bright pink tube top. These are some of my favorite shots of the entire gallery. The way the sun peaks from behind the building while still shielding the bright light creates a beautiful glow. I would 100% add this mural to your list of photo stops in West Reading!

Wyomissing Trails

Off to the meadow we go!!!! Just before sunset, we arrived at the Wyomissing trails for it’s gorgeous open fields. You just can’t beat a field at golden hour. No matter what collection you choose, I’ll always recommend a backdrop like this. It’s simply a must-have.

With such an open location, there was room for so many more movement-based poses. By this point in the night, Phoebe was pretty comfortable in front of the camera so we were able to freestyle a bit. She twirled around in her white dress and we continued down my list of go-to poses. At locations like this, I love to play around with light and try to catch the best glow. We experimented with poses that caught the light just right. That’s the beauty in meadows like this!

If you aren’t convinced yet, take a look at these photos! One location isn’t enough to truly showcase everything that makes you, YOU. I want to give you the chance to express yourself in a variety of settings so we can get a complete picture of who you really are. Ready to book your senior session? Reach out now!
